GHMC planning multilevel parking facilities, action against parked vehicles on roads

Hyderabad: In order to provide better civic amenities as a part of its exercise, the GHMC was planning to provide multilevel parking facilities and take action on the parked vehicles in the “no parking zones” and also on the vehicles which are parked on roadsides and the damaged/condemned vehicles parked for longer period obstructing the flow of traffic, sweeping on roadside and on footpath etc.

In this regard, a team of KGL multinational company, Kuwait, engaged in transportation, logistics, and chain management, gave powerpoint presentation to the officials of GHMC and the Police informing the present process being practiced in Kuwait and other places about towing and impounding on violations vehicles on the instructions of the police officials. At the time of impounding vehicles, they take details of vehicles, like make, photograph of the vehicles, nature of violation, and tag to the vehicle by which all information of the vehicle can be had in one click, i.e. nature of violation, wherein happened, no of days at impounding yard, what is fine to be paid, etc.

Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, Commissioner Lokesh Kumar, Addl DG Jitender, Addl CP Traffic, Hyderabad Anil Kumar and other senior officials attended the meeting. (NSS)
