Guidelines for the store owners and customers by the Municipal Administration

Hyderabad: After the relaxations of the lockdown in the red zones as well, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development department has instructed the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) regarding the directions to be followed by the stores of the city while they are open for the customers.

Shops or stores and establishments will be allowed to open based on an alternate manner. The process will continue keeping in mind the shop numbers.

For businesses in Charminar and other areas, which aren’t posted with a shop number, the first or corner-most shop will be opened along with the ones alternate to it. For stores which have a shop number, its respective odd stores will be allowed to stay open in a particular street or lane.

The GHMC Commissioner has been directed to deploy all the Bill Collectors, Revenue staff, Town Planning and AMOHs to ensure alternate shop opening practice is strictly followed, according to the reports from Telangana Today.

A strict ‘No Mask= No Serive/No Goods’ condition is going to be levied for the store owners and the customers. As per the protocols, store owners also need to keep hand sanitizers in their shop to ensure that each customer cleans their hands before walking inside and for the staff workers too to cater to the different customers only after using a sanitizer.

If any store owner is noticed violating these regulations, a fine of Rs. 1000 will be charged. Moreover, foot markings with the physical distancing measures of keeping 6 feet between each person have to be kept. Red colour indications with markings pertaining to the areas being touched often like elevator buttons, staircase railings, door knobs, surfaces, etc should be made.

The Chief Minister of Hyderabad said, “All the shopkeepers, establishments, offices and industries have to provide hand sanitizers and take preventive measures such as physical measures. If anybody found not wearing masks, Rs. 1000 penalty will be imposed.” The rules also state that if any two business owners create a dispute with each other, all the shops will be closed till further notice.

As the Centre has declared relaxations for all states of the country, KCR said that Hyderabad will also be following the same, however, it has prepared for the worst situations. He said, “Since it is a dangerous virus, the state government is fully geared up to continue its fight against the pandemic. As many as 17,000 beds are ready. If the situation worsens, we will review it and go back to imposing restrictions on some activities.”
