Gurukuls, Hostels Should Follow Corona Protocols: Minister Sabitha

Telangana Education Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy today directed the management of the schools, colleges, and other educational institutions to be more vigilant on corona spread.

The Minister stated that Gurukul and Hostels including other schools should follow corona protocols.

The Minister held a high-level review meeting with the health and education officials here. Sabitha Indra Reddy stated that there is no need for worry or panic as the government has taken all measures to check virus spread.

Since there are some cases being figured at some schools in some pockets of the districts we need more care, she said. There are some managements of the schools which are neglecting the corona cases or ignoring to vaccinate the minister said.

This situation has to go as the vaccination will help prevent the possible spread the minister said.

We are pressing the officials to vaccinate at all schools, colleges as the staff have to get the jabs, Sabitha said. The Minister hoped that the officials of the health and the education will coordinate to vaccinate more to cover all the students.

The officials concerned informed about the present corona situation, vaccination, possible spread of Omicron and facilities at the educational institutions, and steps to vaccination drive in all districts.

Stating that the government is cautious to prevent the spread of the virus and new mutants, the minister asked the management of the schools and colleges, both the government and the private schools, colleges, and institutions to follow corona protocols.

She directed the students and staff to wear masks, sanitize the hands, and maintain distance besides keeping the premises clean.

The Minister directed the officials for a fresh report to tackle the situation and prevent virus spread in the state.
