He hit out at the BJP government in the centre for creating problems to the states to purchase adequate medicines.

The Minister expressed concern that the centre is not able to bring vaccines from abroad. Why it exports to other nations when we don’t have needed vaccine stocks for our own people in the country, he retorted.

The minister accused the Centre of dictating terms to the states to conduct vaccination drive without giving necessary stocks of vaccines.

The centre is neither supplying necessary stocks of vaccines are allowing the states to purchase directly from the manufacturing companies.

Telangana state sought the centre to give permission for acquiring more stocks of vaccines of no use, the Minister remarked. Though Hyderabad produces jabs to supply adequate vaccines and export to other countries we care facing shortage problem, he expressed concern.

He asked the centre to take immediate action to bring vaccines from abroad to distribute among the states and increase production.  There is a need for simplified norms to ensure the vaccines are available, he added.
