Harish Rao urged people to visit Basti Dawakhanas instead of private hospitals

Health Minister T Harish Rao asked the poor people not to visit private hospitals for undergoing treatment as a total of 350 Basti Dawakhanas set up in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits are offering the quality service.

Launching the T-Diagnostic mini-hub at Narsingi in the city on Wednesday, Health Minister said with the launch of 350 Basti Dawakhanas, people are witnessing a revolutionary change in the health sector and the quality health has reached the doorstep of the poor free of cost. Stating that a total of 57 diagnostic services are being offered at the T- diagnostic centers in Hyderabad very soon, the number of services will be increased to 134, Harish Rao said and added that another 20 radiology labs are going to come up in the State capital, in addition to four super speciality hospitals.

The Minister said efforts are underway to augment the medical infrastructure at every level in Telangana and in the coming weeks, the State government will notify 13,000 jobs in the Health department.

“Right now, facilities like digital X-ray, 2D-echo, ultrasound, and ECG are freely available for the poor and in near future, people will get more number of services in their respective areas,” Harish Rao said. The Minister also said all efforts are underway to ensure organ transplantation surgeries taken-up in Government tertiary hospitals. High-end surgeries like joint and knee replacements surgeries have already started in Gandhi Hospital, Osmania General Hospital and in district teaching hospitals.

On this occasion, the Minister launched T- diagnostic mobile app. Meanwhile, 10 T-Diagnostic mini-hubs were launched in Hyderabad on Wednesday with local public representatives participating in the inaugural functions of the diagnostic facilities.
