Health cards soon to 55550 advocates: Indrakaran

Hyderabad: Law Minister A Indrakaran Reddy today said to issue health cards to 55,550 advocates in the state this year.

At a review meeting in Secretariat here he said that earlier health cards given to advocates and their wives. However now it was decided to extend the same to two children of the advocates followed by a request from the legal association. The minister directed the officials to give health cards to advocates by talking to insurance agency that quote less premium. The minister also asked to take steps to extend health facility to the children of the advocates to a total of 55,550 members in the state.

He said that so far 18404 advocates used the health cards and of them 945 availed the facility. The government gave Rs 5 cr for the purpose. Finance secretary Ramakrishna Rao, Legal secretary Niranjan Rao and members of advocates welfare trust and others present. (NSS)
