Heavy rains likely in North Telangana districts: Met officials

Hyderabad: The Meteorological Department today issued a warning that there might be heavy to very heavy rains over isolated parts of the Telangana, especially the erstwhile districts of Adilabad, Karimnagar,  Nizamabad, Warangal, and Khammam.

Massive flooding and waterlogging are likely to occur in low lying areas according to an official communication. 

The falling of trees and electric poles can happen to lead to disruption of normal activities. Reservoirs, tanks, and streams may overflow causing inundation of low-lying areas and cause low bridges and causeways to overflow, posing threat to traffic and people.

The Collectors are requested to put the entire district administration on alert and strictly follow the flooding protocol communicated earlier. Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao has reviewed the matter with Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar. 

The Chief Secretary has directed all the SP’s and District Collectors to be alert and to watch the Heavy rains situation in Telangana. 

All the Officers directed to available in the Head Quarters and take all measures to ensure that no loss of life and properties there.
