The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) is making preparations and taking steps to ensure the safety of cars, drivers, and spectators ahead of the Formula E race in Hyderabad.
The road around Hussain Sagar Lake will be black-topped. Various safety tests will also be performed to ensure that the track is fit for the Formula E race, which is set to take place in Hyderabad next year.
Hussain Sagar Lake’s view
For the sake of public safety, the Hussain Sagar Lake’s view will be blocked by barricades for the next four months. These barricades will be removed once the Formula E race is completed.
A separate VIP walkway and spectator walk route will be set up as part of the event’s planning. Aside from that, pedestrian bridges will be made available over the race track to allow for safe movement.
Despite the fact that work is being done on the road surrounding Hussain Lake Sagar in preparation for the Formula E race, there will be no restrictions on vehicular movement until the event.
Formula E race in Hyderabad
Hyderabad was recently chosen as one of 12 cities worldwide to host the Formula E race in 2023. In India, no other city was chosen to host the event the next year.
Because the race is held on regular roads rather than on specialized tracks, the NTR Marg road that surrounds Hussain Sagar Lake was chosen.
On February 11, 2023, 11 teams will participate in the race, which will be held on a 2.7-kilometer road.
The race in Hyderabad will be the fourth in the season. The first will be held in Mexico City, and the following two will be held in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia.
Formula E
It is an international event in which teams and drivers participate in electric vehicles. It was first held in 2014 at the Olympic Park grounds in Beijing, China.
