High Court expressed anguish again on Corona Cases

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court today posed volley of questions to the Chief Secretary of the State and other higher officials for not following its earlier orders which was passed on the various PILs filed by the different parties on the several issues relating to the Corona epidemic in the court. Following the anguish of the Court yesterday besides the Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, Senior official of Public Health Dept Srinivas Rao and DMO Ramesh Reddy today presented during the hearing from Secretariat through video conference.

The department of public health has already made several changes in the media bulletin on the anguish of the court, which has been releasing daily. The new bulletin consists of the details besides the Containment areas, age-wise corona victims, etc.

 The court heard the PILs filed by the different parties by clubbing it and expressed its displeasure today also for not implementing its orders. The bench further directed to find out the Primary contacts of the cases according to the ICMR guidelines.

The bench also expressed its anger for not submitting the details of the people who have tested till now and questioned the reason for not conducting the corona tests accordingly to the other states. The bench also wanted to know the particulars of the tests which were conducted and questioned why the government has failed to furnish the details of the people who have tested positive.

It has also asked whether the tests are being conducted in the Gandhi Hospital which was made the exclusive COVID 19 treatment center by the state government.

On this occasion, responding to the queries of the Court the Chief Secretary admitted of the low number of tests however he assured the court that the state government would speed up the process of testing according to the instructions of the court. Mentioning that the details of the available oxygen have also included in the media bulletin, he said that center has made some changes in its guidelines from time to time.  He claimed that the government has been giving top priority to the court orders.

The court has today heard the 15  PILs filed on different issues ie medical services of the government-run hospitals, exorbitant charges of the private hospitals, and other matters.
