The Telangana High Court today issued notices to the vice-chancellors of Kakatiya University (KU) and Telugu University (TU) challenging their appointments.
The petition was filed by a retired principal Vidyasagar. In his petition, he alleged that the VCs of the two universities were appointed against the existing rules.
He also alleged that the Vice-Chancellor of KU did not have ten years of experience as a teacher. He also said that the VC of the TU was 70 years of age.

Responding to the petition after hearing the arguments of the counsel for the petitioner, a division bench comprising the Chief Justice of the High Court Justice Hima Kohli and Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy issued the Kroger to the two VCs and asked them to file their counters within four weeks. It later adjourned the case till October 27 of this year.
