High Court lawyer Goapla Krishna Kalanidhi receives notice from CBI

Hyderabad: Telangana High Court lawyer Gopala Krishna Kalanidhi today received a notice from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for making objectionable remarks against the judges of the state and the country on social media.

The CBI made it clear that it had sent notices to the senior advocate for his abusive and insulting remarks against the judges. The apex investigation agency of the country had asked Kalanidhi to appear before it on 9th of this month. Some people are saying that the comments of Kalanidhi against the judges in social media would amount to contempt of court. It may be noted here that Supreme Court senior advocate Prashant Bhushan faced contempt of court proceedings for making objectionable comments against the Chief Justice of the country Justice SA Bobde.

The Telangana high court asked Kalanidhi to tender a public apology for his objectionable comments in October last year. He immediately responded to the issue and rendered a public apology for his comments by holding a press conference at Somajiguda press club on the following day of the orders of the HC
