House sites, Health Cards for Journalists soon: KTR flays BJP, Congress

Promising to provide house sites to all the journalists in the state of Telangana, Industries and MAUD Minister,  KT Rama Rao today asserted to provide better healthcare facilities to their family members with a new policy.

He was addressing a gathering of journalists at the Jal Vihar on the necklace road in the city here along with Press Academy Chairman Allam Narayana, MLA and journalist Kranthi Kiran and other leaders of the journalists association. He gave away cheques towards financial assistance to the deceased and ailing journalists here.

While Rs 1 lakh was given to 87 to the kin and Rs 50000 each were given to 18 journalists. He said that the government will soon sort out the issues pertaining to the scribes in Telangana.

The minister said that the house sites will be given to the eligible journalists and offer better health care facilities to their family members. Asking Narayana and Kranthi to get details of the children of deceased journalists and ensure they get education from the government.

However, KT Rama Rao took a dig at some newspapers and news channels for carrying out more stories on the TRS debacle in the Dubbaka bypoll and GHMC. We have been on the winning spree since 2014 and might have lost and now will win the MLC graduate MLC polls he said.
He agreed that the house sites issue caused a delay in the distribution of the suitable land and now the government will take a call in this regard.

The minister accused the opposition parties of BJP and the Congress of their belittling remarks against the chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

The journalists have played a key role in the statehood movement, and not the opposition parties he averred.

KTR assured that KCR will soon start a building for journalists in five floors and a press academy building to offer training to the scribes to update skills.

He flayed that BJP chief Bandi Sanjay and other leaders of the party and the Congress are making insulting remarks against the chief minister. It is not up to their level to make derogatory remarks against the chief minister and we will teach them a fitting lesson.
Both Sanjay and TPCC Chief Uttam Kumar Reddy got their posts of Telangana party units only after statehood achieved by KCR he said. He warned that they will not keep quiet on such bad remarks.

In Gujrat being ruled by the BJP only about 1000 accredited journalists are working while the Telangana government gave accreditation cards to 19500 plus journalists he claimed. No other state is giving welfare funds of Rs 100 cr to journalists in the country like Telangana, the Minister said.

There was some problem pertaining to releasing of the funds and technical problems with regard to implementation of health cards to the journalists.

We will soon sort out the same he said and asked Narayana and Kranthi to prepare a list of the journalists to get benefits on behalf of the government.

We have noticed the problem of the journalists and provided help to them during the corona pandemic period, KTR maintained.

He slammed the opposition leaders who failed to support the same are now resorting to blame the game on the government on its welfare programs.

The BJP and the Congress are trying to mud-slinging on the government projects, development programs despite the Centre giving nothing to us. Stating to construct a five-floor building for journalists Media Academy to give training and facilities.

He took a jibe at Modi rule for not responding to Telangana appeals for projects and funds. He informed that Telangana has paid in six years about Rs 2.75 lakh crore taxes to the Centre led by the BJP regime and received in return only about Rs 1.30 lakh crores which is less than half.
