Yet another minor rape case has been reported, in which a 20-year-old male was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 10th class girl. The man was apprehended in Secunderabad’s Monda Market police station limits.
As reported by the police, the victim was a Class 10 student who lived with her parents in a rented house in Secunderabad. Recently, she had been friends with a youngster living in her neighbourhood, who was around 20 years old.
A missing case was registered with the local police on June 1, when the girl disappeared from her house. In the course of their investigation, the police learned that the youngster had sexually assaulted the girl after luring her with the promise of marriage.
More cases of rape of underage girls came to light, leaving the citizens of the twin cities shaken. While the city was still recovering from the shock of the gang rape of a teenage girl in Jubilee Hills, another case involving an underage girl had been reported.

Secunderabad reported a second gang rape of a minor girl, soon after the Jubilee Hills pub-Mercedes Benz incident. As in the high-profile gang-rape case, two of the five accused in the Secunderabad case were juveniles.
The police reported that the 16-year-old victim met the accused on Instagram. “On at least two occasions in March, the offenders exploited her sexually by taking her to hotel rooms in different parts of the city.
The girl was said to be in a depressed state for some time and her parents finally approached us last week,” said Assistant Commissioner of Police (North Zone) B Ramesh. Her statement was only able to be recorded after intensive counselling.

On May 30, the Karkhana police registered a case under IPC Section 376 (gang-rape), and the accused were arrested on June 1.
Ritesh, Dheeraj and one other were in judicial remand and the children in conflict with the law were housed in a juvenile home. She was allegedly drugged and forced to comply after they threatened to post intimate pictures of her on social media.
