Hyderabad: Asaduddin Owaisi inaugurates Rs 127 crore development works

In the Nampally constituency, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and MLA Jaffer Hussain Meraj inaugurated various developmental works worth Rs 127 crore.

A junior college with hostel facilities will be built at Bazarghat, according to the MLA, to improve the education of minority girls and women. There will be a foot-over-bridge constructed connecting the Niloufer Hospital buildings.

Pedestrians will have access to a massive skywalk at Mehdipatnam over the PVNR expressway. A library and an open-air theatre are being built in the Chacha Nehru Park at Masab Tank for children and families.

Various sections of the sewage lines will be repaired and redesigned to prevent water stagnation. According to Hussain, the Balkapur nala will be restored in order to ensure a smooth flow of water and flood control. In various parts of Nampally, BT and VDCC roads will be laid.

The meeting was attended by officials Mohammed Majid Hussain (Mehdipatnam), Zaker Baqueri (Dattatreya Nagar), party leaders Dr Shaik Mohd Khasim, Arif Rizwan, Sarfaraz Siddiqui, Zafar Khan, and Mohammed Moosa.

GHMC prepares for monsoon floods

As part of the Strategic Nala Development Project’s (SNDP) ongoing construction, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is working to mitigate the risk of flooding in the city during the monsoon season, according to a press release.

The government is working on a permanent solution to floods since low-lying areas have been flooded in the past by unseasonal rains. 60 works worth Rs 954 crore were undertaken through the SNDP in order to keep the citizens of the city out of trouble.

37 projects have been started under GHMC and are in various stages of development. The corporation has identified flood-prone areas in various municipalities and taken temporary measures to allow drainage of the water safely, according to a press release.
