Hyderabad: Bharat Jodo Yatra to pass through the heart of the city

The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) announced the new route for the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Hyderabad on Saturday.

Previously, the yatra was to go through the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and Vikarabad. Instead of passing through the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and Vikarabad district, the Yatra will now go through Shamshabad, Aramgarh, Charminar, Afzalgunz, Mozamjahi Market, Gandhi Bhavan, Nampally Darga, Vijaynagar Colony, Nagarjuna Circle, Punjagutta, Ameerpet, Kukatpally, Miyapur, and Pantacheru. The State party unit believes that if the Yatra passes through the Telangana capital, it will be a beneficial impact on the state.

On the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Congress leaders plan to hold a meeting in or near the city.

Another public meeting would be held on the day Rahul’s Yatra leaves the state. They intend to include Telangana activists, revolutionaries, and students in the Yatra as well.

In order to expedite preparations for the Bharat Jodo Yatra, which is currently in Karnataka and will enter the state in the last week of this month, the Congress party has visited Director General of Police M Mahender Reddy at his office, requesting permission and security for the walkathon.

A Revanth Reddy, the TPCC’s chief, informed the media that the DGP had responded positively to their request.

Previously in the day, the Maharashtra Congress team, led by CLP leader Bala Saheb Thorat, held deliberations with their Telangana counterparts at the residence of AICC Maharashtra in-charge SA Sampath Kumar. They also held a review of the proposed route.

Revanth Reddy, who described the yatra as historic, stated that the Telangana Congress leadership was closely coordinating with neighboring states. The team, along with state leaders, toured areas around Hyderabad where the yatra is expected to pass.

“A common committee for better coordination between the two states will be formed to make it a historical yatra,” he later told the media.
