Hyderabad Mayor launched 7th Economic Survey in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA) which has been entrusted to carry out the seventh economic survey in Telangana is looking to provide employment opportunities to youth with computer literacy. Accordingly, the Association has invited applications from youngsters who have qualified class X (SSC) to work as enumerators for collecting data for the economic survey to be carried out by TITA’s digital entity Digithon. This is for the first time that the Economic Survey is being carried out digitally.

The survey is carried out throughout the State has covered 52 percent of households, has been launched in Hyderabad today. GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan and TITA Global President Sundeep Kumar Makthala launched the survey in the city on Thursday.

Mayor Rammohan praised TITA for bagging the survey work and also employing thousands of youth to carry out the same. Mayor urged the city residents to fully cooperate with the enumerators carrying out the survey. Survey chairperson and Hyderabad Collector Swetha Mohanty directed GHMC, Police, Industries & Labour Department officials to cooperate with enumerators during the survey.

As part of the survey being carried out by the Centre and entrusted to TITA in Telangana, the Association has set a target of carrying out one million digital surveys to be carried out by 5,000 enumerators. CSC eGovernance and Digithon will jointly carry out the survey.
Speaking at the launch of the survey, GHMC Mayor Rammohan urged unemployed youth to
join the survey as enumerators. He appreciated TITA’s efforts saying that it is providing employment opportunities to scores of youth through the survey. He urged officials and public representatives to ensure the smooth conduct of the survey in the city.

Speaking on the occasion, TITA Global President Sundeep Kumar Makthala said that for 573
investigator units, nearly 5000 enumerators will be required for the massive exercise in the city. Individuals having an SSC (class X) qualification and owning a smartphone are eligible to be part of the drive. Those interested to work as enumerators should register themselves at bit.ly/censussurvey and need to take a basic test. Those qualifying for the test will be provided ID cards and a Certificate. The enumerators will also get the opportunity to take part in future digital surveys carried out of CSC e-Governance. Sundeep said that being part of the Central survey in association with CSC was a pride moment for the Association and urged the youth to use the opportunity and register as an enumerator.

CSC Vice-President Raja Kishore said that the survey has covered 52 percent of residents in
Telangana as of now. The entire survey is being carried out digitally for the first time, he said. Youth can avail the opportunity and become enumerators for the survey which is all set to begin in Hyderabad.
