Hyderabad Metro to participate in the national anthem singing program

The Hyderabad metro trains will be stopped for a minute at 11.30 am on Tuesday as part of the Telangana government’s temporary traffic stoppage and national anthem singing program to mark the 75th Independence Day. On the trains and at metro stations, the national anthem will be played.

As part of the mass national anthem singing program, commuters will be asked to stand up, Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) MD NVS Reddy announced on Monday.

Till 22nd August, the state government planned to celebrate “Swatantra Bharata Vajrotsavalu” (Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of Independence). As part of this occasion, a high-powered committee meeting chaired by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao decided to convene a special Assembly session and organize a variety of cultural and social activities. In his address to the committee, KCR said that the celebrations should be taken up on a grand scale. Celebrations should be attended by students, employees, senior officials, people’s representatives, and youth.

From August 9, Tri-colour flags should be distributed to all 1.2 crore houses in the state. The Vajrotsavam will be celebrated at HICC in Hyderabad with a gala spectacle. A special assembly session will be held in honor of freedom fighters, according to the Chief Minister.

He instructed officials to illuminate all government buildings and historical structures with colorful lights. Moreover, he suggested conducting contests for essay writing, elocution, painting, and singing patriotic songs in public and private schools and colleges. Every day, students at government and private educational institutions will be able to watch the film ‘Gandhi’ directed by Richard Attenborough.

Government officials have decided to organize village-level sports competitions and games for the Freedom Cup at the village, Mandal, and state levels. Additionally, a combined national anthem program will be held throughout the state. It has yet to be decided when the event will take place.
