Hyderabad: New police command control center to be inaugurated on August 4

The new Command Control Center, or Hyderabad Police Commissionerate, on Banjara Hills Road No. 12, which has been under construction for about six years, will be officially inaugurated in the first week of August by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

In preparation for the arrival of the Chief Minister, Hyderabad police commissioner CV Anand and other top officers visited the construction site on Saturday to inspect the security measures. Although the administration has not officially announced a date for the inauguration, August 4 has been mentioned as a possible date.

According to Anand, the Hyderabad City Police is getting closer to being recognized as a national elite organization with its upcoming technological fusion center in Banjara Hills.

“A dry run was conducted with all concerned departments such as R&B, TRANSCO, GHMC, Builders Shapoorji Pallonji, L&T, vendors regarding the sequence of events during the inauguration, as well as the completion of pending civil and command control center works,” Hyderabad police said in a press release.

During his brief meeting with senior officials at the site, the commissioner assigned duties to each officer and stated that each floor of the building will be overseen by a senior officer.

This project includes four towers, one of which is ornamental. Each of the two tallest structures has 20 or 15 stories. The 1.5 lakh square foot basement is not included in the 5.5 lakh square foot project.

The center will help to connect the operations of various police units under one roof. The Command-and-Control Center will provide sophisticated surveillance to the police and will have a network of over 9.25 lakh cameras deployed across the state.

KCR laid the groundwork for the massive project in November 2015, after M Mahendar Reddy, Hyderabad’s then-police commissioner, suggested it.
