Hyderabad Police Plan to Increase Patrol Vehicles

To reduce the response time to emergency calls from Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills police stations, Hyderabad police are increasing patrolling vehicle strength at these stations.

In an analysis and recommendations of the existing patrolling system, a high-level committee comprising Kartikeya, Gajarao Bhupal, Joint Commissioner of Police (CAR Headquarters), Satish, and Additional DCP (Motor Transport), Burhan Ali, was assisted by Additional DCP (Motor Transport).

According to Hyderabad Police Commissioner, CV Anand, the committee was formed to improve visible policing and optimize the use of resources to curb crime in large jurisdictional areas within the city.

Using last year’s data, the committee studied the patrol car system, the Dial 100 calls volume, and the jurisdictions of all police stations in Hyderabad city.

The committee has made certain recommendations with the objective of swiftly resolving public grievances in times of emergency and improving the overall visibility of police, according to the commissioner.

Anand instructed the officials to strengthen the patrol system by allocating additional patrol cars and manpower to the existing patrol fleet of two police stations – Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills – since these have large jurisdiction areas, high Dial 100 call volume, and therefore higher workloads.

He said the move will improve the response time of field police officers to Dial 100 calls as quickly as possible, as well as enhance visibility and improve public confidence.

Additionally, police stations with larger jurisdictions have received extra fuel quotas for their patrol vehicles. Due to the rationalization of workload and kilometers covered, 104 police patrol cars receive additional fuel each month.
