Hyderabad received 2.8 mm rainfall since Monday morning

As the territorial showers reinforced with the impact of Cyclone ‘Gulab’ continued to dominate the weather, the Telangana State has received an average rainfall of 12.2 millimeters during the last 24 hours. Most of the areas in the state, except Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Narayanpet, Wanaparthy and Jogulamba Gadwal districts, received moderate rainfall of 15.6 to 64.4 mm.

According to official statistics, the Telangana State received an average rainfall of 12.2 mm as against 2.7mm normal rainfall. The highest rainfall of 118.8mm was recorded at Khammam district during the last twenty four hours where the heavy rainfall of 115.6 to 204.4 mm was also reported. Besides, four other districts that include Adilabad, Mahbubabad, Khammam and Bhadradri Kothgudem also received heavy rainfall between 64.5 to 115.5 mm.

According to the data collected from Automated Weather Stations (AWS) only few places in the state received light rainfall of 2.5 to 15.5 mm.

Surprisingly, the highest 11.3 mm rainfall under GHMC limits was recorded at Kapra in Medchal Malkajgiri district.

In Hyderabad, except Nampally, Bahadurpura and Saidabad, no other area witnessed significant rainfall during the last 24 hours. Out of 15 areas in the city designated as Automated Weather Stations (AWSs), the Nampally area received 12.8 mm rainfall followed by Bahadurpura 9 mm and Saidabad 5.6 mm.

Similarly, the shows in the last twenty four hours leaves no much impact over areas like Tirumalgiri (4.8mm), Secunderabad (3.3mm), Khairatabad (2.0mm), Maredpally (3.0mm), Shaikpet (1.8mm) Musheerabad (5.3mm), Himayathnagar (1.5mm), Golkonda (0.8), Asifnagar (1.8mm), Amberpet (1.8mm), Chaminar (2.4mm), and Bandlaguda (1.8mm) since Sunday morning.

However, on 27th September since morning to 4.00 pm, the Hyderabad district received a total 2.8 mm rainfall as against the normal evaluation 1.2 mm with 133 percent deviation.
