Hyderabad: Training classes for Urdu journalists at Urdu Maskan

Media Academy of Telangana kickstarted training classes for Urdu journalists at Urdu Maskan in Hyderabad on Saturday. Home Minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali, Charminar MLA Mumtaz Ahmed Khan, MLC Syed Amin ul Hassan Jaffrey, Corporator Mustafa Ali Muzaffar graced the inaugural session.

Syed Ahmed Ameer Khan Rahnuma e Deccan, Waheed Gulshan, staff reporter Etemaad, Warangal, Mujeeb-Siasat, Ameer Hussain Habeeb-Saaze Deccan, felicitated for long association with Urdu Journalism.

Widow of Mohammad Khaisar, Urdu journalist who lost his life to COVID, was handed over a one lakh rupee cheque.

Speaking on the occasion, Home Minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali said that Urdu is a language that is cherished by one and all. The duty of protecting the sweet language lies on each one of us. Journalists and Religious scholars play a vital role in saving Urdu.

Mahmood Ali requested Muslim parents to teach their children the Urdu language.

Chairman Media Academy, Allam Narayana said, Urdu is not a language of Muslims alone. It’s a language of our pluralistic nation. Urdu is a part of our composite culture. Deccani Urdu is Hyderabad pride. He lauded Telangana Urdu Working Journalists’ Federation for striving towards the cause of Urdu Journalism.

MLC Amin ul Hassan Jaffrey said that Urdu daily newspapers are famous across the country. Urdu is not limited to print and electronic media. It has expanded itself to web portals now. Hindi belt witnesses reduction of Urdu speaking people. Those who can converse in Urdu can’t write the script. Urdu needs protection so that none can eliminate it.
