Renuka, the victim, who lived in Nacharam’s Baba Nagar, had an extramarital relationship with a man named Anjaiah. The latter was a driver by profession and resided in Chiluka Nagar since the past four years.

The alleged murderer’s wife had left to spend some days at her parents’ house in their native town. Anjaiah and Renuka took this as an opportunity and started meeting more often than usual.

Amid one specific fight on a trivial matter, the accused got spewed with rage.

“Anjaiah purchased food and liquor while he was bringing the victim to his residence. While he was consuming liquor, she asked him for Rs. 20,000. As Anjaiah refused to give her money, Renuka abused him. Following this, Anjaiah killed her,” RangaSwamy, inspector of Uppal police station said.

This was on Sunday when they had their regular meeting at Anjaiah’s home. The man, who was drunk, attacked Renuka with a glass bottle. In his next move, he stomped on her neck which choked her to death.

“After a heated argument, Anjaiah who was in an inebriated condition grabbed an empty beer bottle and hit Renuka on her head. After she fell on the ground Anjaiah stamped on her throat killing her on the spot,” police said.

Uppar police went to the location immediately after getting informed of the matter.

After probing the case, the police was able to arrest Anajaiah on the basis of murder and have put him in judicial custody.

The incident took place on the latter half of 9th August at around 8.30 pm, but wasn’t revealed until the next morning when the neighbors of he accused informed the police about it.

In another incident, a woman from MP killed her husband after he found out about her affair with a man of the same village. The paramour, along with his friends had executed the crime. After 6-7 hours of the murder which took place in the early hours of the morning, the woman dialed the police to hysterically inform them of a made up story. She claimed that a group of goons had looted their house, escaped with one lakh cash and a motorbike. However, when the forensic lab reports proved that the man had died many hours before the wife reached out to the police as the body had stiffened due to rigor mortis, the police doubted the woman. During interrogation, she confessed to the crime and disclosed the involvement of Singh, her lover, and two of his friends who helped in it.
