Hyderabad: Naina Jaiswal became the first girl from Telangana to win bronze medal in Youth girls singles at 80th Junior and Youth National & Interstate Table Tennis Championship 2018, held in Sonepat Haryana.
Naina, who was member of the Telangana team that won the Youth girls team silver, had a good outing in the individual event too. The city girl ousted Yeshashwini of Karnataka 4-1 in the pre-quarterfinals before beating Deepthi Selvakumar of Airport Authority of India with the score of 4-2 in the quarterfinals.
However in the semifinals, Naina lost to Shruti Amrute of Maharashtra 1-4 and had to be satisfied with a bronze medal. (NSS)
