The victim, Maulana Akram, originally from Rampur District, had been residing in Bhensia Village for the past 15 years, serving the local mosque. According to initial reports, the assailants, who appeared to be known to Maulana Akram, called him out of the mosque before shooting him at point-blank range.

Local authorities were quick to respond. “The body is being sent for post-mortem, and additional forces have been deployed in the village to maintain order,” said a spokesman for the Katghar police.
