As per the latest reports, an Iranian commercial ship was recently attacked by an explosive object. The incident took place at the Mediterranean Sea.
No Crew Injury Reported On The Ship
Reports suggest that an explosive object hit the ship that was travelling from Iran to Europe. It was the Iran Shahrekord container ship and a part of its hull was damaged in the “terrorist attack”. However, the fire caused by the attack was soon contained by the crew. And none of the crew got hurt or injured throughout.

The spokesperson of the Iran Shipping Company, Ali Ghiasian said that the ship will continue the journey once all the damage caused is fixed. He further said that such attacks go against the international law. Iran will be following up with the investigations against the attack and take in the culprit.
Iran Denies Attacking Israel’s Cargo Ship
This incident comes after Iran recently denied attacking Israel’s cargo ship at the Persian Gulf. Israel’s ship named The MV Helios Ray suffered an attack on February 26 this year adn several holes were blown into the hull. Following the attack, Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blamed it all on Iran.
However, Iran’s UN Ambassador circulated a letter claiming that Israel was playing to become the victim to disrupt the peace around the region.

The attack on the Israel’s ship has reportedly caused “severe damage” and was forced to return for the safety of the crew. Israel has previously accused Iran of developing nuclear weaponry and supporting terrorist groups like Hamas and Lebanese Hezbollah.
