It Feels Like My Journey Has Just Begun: Nidhi Singh

Nidhi Singh, celebrated for her versatile performances, has carved a unique niche in the entertainment industry. From her humble beginnings in Allahabad to becoming a powerhouse performer, her story is one of resilience, passion, and relentless pursuit of excellence. In her latest project, Moonwalk, Nidhi embraces a role unlike any she has taken on before—complex, unpredictable, and thrilling.

Reflecting on her career, Nidhi shares, “I honestly feel it’s just begun. Every single project feels as new and exciting as the first time I faced the camera.” Known for her dedication, she approaches every role as a clean canvas, eager to evolve and collaborate with creative minds.

Her journey hasn’t been without its challenges. “There are days when it gets frustrating, but you hold on and keep moving. Being part of this industry, which once seemed like a far-fetched dream for someone from Allahabad, feels surreal,” she says.

Talking about Moonwalk, Nidhi reveals her initial thoughts upon hearing the project’s name. “I thought it might involve dance, which thrilled me because of my teenage love for dancing. But when I read the script, I realized it was a high-stakes comedy-drama, and I was hooked.”

While she expected to audition for the role of Asma, director Ajay Singh saw her as Chandni. “I couldn’t believe it. Chandni is unlike any character I’ve played before—manipulative, cryptic, and thrillingly unpredictable. Playing her made me question human nature,” Nidhi says.

To embody Chandni, Nidhi stepped out of her comfort zone, adopting the character’s discipline and polished demeanor. “Getting into her physicality helped me tap into her mindset. I trained rigorously, and somewhere along the way, I started enjoying it.”

With no detailed backstory provided, Nidhi created one herself to bring depth to her portrayal. “While the audience won’t see it, having a backstory anchored me to her actions.”

The shooting process, which included live locations on the outskirts of Lucknow, posed challenges like tight schedules and long hours. “I remember shooting for 48 hours straight without sleep. It was exhausting but rewarding,” she recalls.

Praising director Ajay Singh, Nidhi credits his vision and guidance for helping her bring Chandni to life. With her passion for storytelling and commitment to growth, Nidhi Singh continues to captivate audiences, pushing the boundaries of her craft.
