Jalpally officials proposed Two Arm Central Lighting at Yerrakunta

Following the Jalpally Municipal Council gave its approval for ‘Two Arm Central Lighting’ project from Yerra Kunta to Jalpally Gate, the municipal authorities are now waiting to see the scheme get a technical sanctioning early that help them ground the work soon.

Though the proposal got the approval of the council recently with a fund of Rs.50 Lakhs under Building Permission Grant, it is yet to clear the phase of technical sanctioning that, according to officials, may take atleast a month.

According to officials the Two Arm Central Lighting project will cover a total three kilometers of stretch from Yerra Kunta to Jalpally Gate with a fund of Rs.50 Lakhs under Building Permission Grant. The proposal has already got the approval of the council. To realize this project, removal of encroachments on the three kilometers meters long stretch have begun besides cleaning of nala on both the sides.

“Technical sectioning of the proposal may take atleast a month. The whole project will come into full shape in the next three months since the grounding of work and most probably it will be realized in the month of February next year. Over the years the Yerra Kunta to Jalpally Gate stretch witnessed a brazen level of encroachments while the age-old nala on both the sides have completely over-run with the silt and mud that resulted in overflowing over filth on the road. This issue often causes quagmire stagnation on the road especially during the rainy season,” elaborated the official.

“If everything moves according to the plan the ‘Two Arm Central Lighting’ project will get into full shape next year that would surely make the stretch more aesthetic than just a simple highway. Only technical sanctioning and calling tenders for execution of works will take the time,” said the official.
