Jilted lover throws girl from second floor in Chilkalguda, arrested

Hyderabad: A 17-year-old girl was allegedly attacked with granite stone and threw from the second floor of a building in Warasiguda for refusing to marry him.

Following a complaint this morning through a Dial-100, the Chilkalguda police rushed to the spot and found the blood-soaked body of the victim Najma (name changed) on the ground. The deceased was a student of Junior Intermediate and resident of Warasiguda, Secunderabad. The police obtained a complaint from her mother Farzana Begum and registered a case under IPC Sections 302, 201 and 354-D IPC and Sec. 11 and 12 POCSO Act, 2012 IPC.

An investigation by the Chilkalguda inspector revealed that one Shoeb, 21, Flex Board Designer of Warasiguda, a schoolmate of the deceased, studied in the same school from Class 1 to IX. He liked the girl and sent marriage proposals through his parents. However, the parents of the deceased rejected the proposal. Later, the deceased’s father expired in 2018.

Police said aggrieved by the rejection of his marriage proposal, Shoeb bore grudge against the deceased and decided to physically eliminate her. As pre-planned, the accused went to the victim’s house on Thursday midnight and took her to the terrace. Shoeb argued with her vehemently and caught her neck with his hands, picked up a sharp edged Shabad stone piece and inflicted multiple injuries on her neck and also hit her with a granite stone. He finally dragged her from the terrace to the parapet wall and threw her from the 2nd floor of the building. The accused has been taken into custody and being produced in the Court for judicial remand.
