Jubilee Hills rape case: Four minors released on bail

As per the latest reports, bail was granted to four minors in the Jubilee Hills gang-rape case. They were granted bail by the Juvenile Justice Board on Tuesday. In Saidabad, they were released from the Juvenile Home.

A fifth minor, the son of a legislator, remained at the Juvenile Home. Telangana High Court is likely to hear his bail petition later in the day. Additionally, Saduddin Malik, the only adult in the case, remains in jail as his bail petition has already been dismissed.

Four children in conflict with the law (CCLs) have been released after being detained for nearly 50 days. According to their counsels, they were entitled to bail since the police had completed their investigation into the case.

Police in Jubilee Hills has completed the identification parade, recording of the survivor’s statement under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code, DNA test, and forensic examination of the vehicles in which the victim was gang-raped.

In opposition to the bail plea, the prosecution argued that their release would hamper the ongoing investigation. On the condition that they cooperate with the investigation officers, and record their attendance before the district probation officer in Hyderabad every month, the Juvenile Justice Board released the four CCLs.

Additionally, they were instructed to provide two sureties each worth Rs 5,000. On June 22, the Board rejected bail petitions, agreeing with the prosecution that bail should not be granted in view of the seriousness of the offense.

A 17-year-old girl was gang-raped in a car on May 28 in the upscale Jubilee Hills neighborhood by six people, including a major.

Following a party at a bar, they trapped the victim and sexually assaulted her after offering a lift. Six accused, including a son of a leader of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), are facing charges of gang rape, while another accused is facing charges of molestation.
