K Chandrashekhar Rao meets PM Modi, discusses several issues

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao today appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take an immediate call for the High Court division besides allotting land at Bison Polo Grounds for construction of a new Secretariat at Secunderabad.

The Chief Minister, who reached Delhi on Friday, called on the Prime Minister and discussed on Telangana issues for about an hour. He also understood to have submitted a memorandum comprising 10 key issues pertaining to the State. During his talks, the Chief Minister made a strong pitch for High Court division and need for setting up one for Andhra Pradesh while retaining the existing one in Hyderabad which is a joint affair now. The Chief Minister apprised the Prime Minister of various developmental and flagship programs, irrigation projects and urged him to provide necessary financial assistance.

KCR also urged Narendra Modi to release funds for backward districts, approve new zonal system in the State and keep promises made under AP Reorganization Act. The issues prominently figured during the important meeting include setting up of ITIR, national status to Kaleshwaram project, IIM, IPIR, IIIT in Karimnagar and allocation of Jawahar Navodaya Schools to each district in the State. He also stressed the need for giving 95 per cent of jobs to local youths and students. KCR said to have sought approval for new zonal system for the purpose.

Earlier on Friday, KCR met with Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and discussed about the State issues, including division of High Court and others. (NSS)
