KCR meets Nitin Gadkari and Gajendra Shekhawat

As part of his Delhi tour, Telangana Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao held discussions with some central Ministers on state development.

The CM called on Union Minister for Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari to sanction four-lane of Hyderabad (ORR)-Kalwakurthy section of National Highway-765. In a representation submitted to Gadkari in Delhi.

Telangana CM who is presently on a visit to the National Capital thanked him for issue of notification of new NH from Kalwakurthy (in Telangana) to Nandyal (in Andhra Pradesh) via Kollapur, Somasila, and Karivena as NH-167K. Further, this road on development to NH standards with a new bridge across river Krishna at Somasila will reduce the distance between Hyderabad and Tirupati, Chennai ett by about 80 Kms.

The newly declared NH-167 K takes off at km 67/0 of NH 765 near Kalwakurthy. The NH-765 connects Hyderabad with the famous Jyothirlinga at Srisailam, the CM said during the meeting with Gadkari.  As per the toll records, the present traffic up to Kalwakurthy on NH-765 is about 14000 PCUs (Passenger Car Units per hour)and the traffic will further increase manifold once the Kalwakurthy-Karivena section of NH 167k is developed.

Keeping in view the present traffic and future requirements, it is essential to develop the existing two-lane paved shoulder Highway from Hyderabad (ORR) to Kalwakurthy (NH 765) to four-lane standards, the CM added.

KCR informed Gadkari that the Centre agreed to develop about 3,306 km of roads and developed about 2,168 km so far he said and asked for the release of the funds and take up works of 1,138 km roads.

The CM also met Gajendra Shekhawat and asked him to address the water row with the AP government.

In the meeting with the Union Minister, the Chief Minister said significance as the state needs more roads and infrastructure in Naxal-infested areas.

Also, the state government is fighting against the illegal drawing of water and construction of the projects violating norms. KCR is learned to have apprised the minister on the same and sought his intervention.

He hoped that the Centre will instruct the AP Government to avoid looting the water of Telangana and avoid hampering the interests of the people.

The Chief Minister reportedly got positive responses from the Union Ministers according to information. KCR urged the center to extend the necessary support for state development in all sectors.

Earlier, KCR called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi. He appealed to Modi and Amit Shah to extend the necessary support for Telangana development.

KCR sought the Modi government to allow some land to the state to construct an office building for Telangana state in Delhi.

On September 2, the CM laid a foundation for the TRS party office Telangana Bhavan at Vasanth Vihar near the metro station.
