KCR Misleading People on English Medium in Govt Schools : Revanth Reddy

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President and MP A. Revanth Reddy today alleged that the  Chief Minister of the state  K. Chandrashekhar Rao was again misleading the people in the name of English medium education.

In an informal chat with media persons at Congress Legislature Party office in the city , the TPCC President strongly reacted to the decision taken by the Telangana Cabinet to make English medium compulsorily in all government schools from the coming academic year 2022-23.

Revanth Reddy said that if the Right to Education Act gets implemented in Telangana, then poor students would get admission on 25 percent of the seats in all private educational institutions. However, KCR is not implementing the Act while falsely claiming that the State Government is already giving ‘KG to PG free education, he noted ‘. He said that the State Government was not issuing notification for the recruitment of teachers. “How can English medium education be imparted without appointing teachers?” he asked.

Stating that not a single teacher has been appointed under  TRS regime, Revanth Reddy alleged that CM KCR was focused on giving jobs to politically unemployed persons. He also questioned KCR’s logic behind shutting down educational institutions. “Only a few Covid cases were reported from the schools while there was not a single death. But all the educational institutions were shut down as a ‘precautionary measure’. Why was the same ‘precaution’ not taken by closing down the pubs?” he asked.

The TPCC Chief said that the pubs were not being shut down as they generate revenue and educational institutions were being targeted as KCR wants to deprive the poor students of education. He said that KCR was deliberately ruining the entire education system. For KCR, spending on education is an expenditure. But in reality, it is an investment for a better future and good society. He said that leaders like George Reddy were born because the state had institutions like Osmania University before the formation of Telangana. “KCR weakened the universities to prevent the rise of student leaders and activists like George Reddy,” he alleged while calling KCR a ‘Manuvadi’.

Reddy said that enactment of new laws would not improve the educational system unless the State Government takes up recruitment of teachers to fill all vacancies and create new posts.

He also slammed CM KCR for skipping a video conference with Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the Chief Minister to review Covid situation. He said that CM KCR did not participate in the meeting as he does not care about the lives of the people of Telangana.

Speaking about Dalit Bandhu, he said that the scheme was good if it is implemented with honesty. He claimed that KCR was not even speaking about the scheme after losing the Huzurabad by-elections.

“TRS and MIM are allies in Telangana. But instead of supporting MIM in Uttar Pradesh elections, CM KCR has announced his support for Samajwadi Party. If KCR is really against the BJP and wants to defeat it, then it should ask its local ally MIM to also support the SP,” he said.

Targeting state industries minister KTR , He alleged that Minister K.Tarakarama Rao was finding excuses to run away from debate on public issues. “KTR posed a challenge for a debate on farmers’ issues and we accepted the challenge. KTR stated that he doesn’t debate with criminals. But I’m ready to debate with a criminal who was booked under 420 IPC because it involves public issues,” he said.

Revanth Reddy strongly condemned Chinna Jeeyar Swami Ashram for not sending him an invite for the unveiling of the statue of Ramanuja Chary. “I’m the State President of a national party and also a Member of Parliament. But I was sent an invitation through an employee of a real estate firm,” he said, adding that he would’ve appreciated an invitation by any disciple of Swami Ji’s Ashram.

“Just because we are Shaivites, the Vaishnavites cannot insult us in this manner,” he said.

Stating that he has a lot of respect for Chinna Jeeyar Swami, he said that Swami was conducting an entire event for the sake of a realtor. “Trees are being cut and the entire system is being misused to benefit a realtor. I’m unable to convey anything to Chinna Jeeyar Swami as he is always surrounded by realtors, which does not suit his stature,” he said and alleged that TRS Govt wad trying to benefit a real estate company in the garb of visit by the President of India and Prime Minister. They must think twice before coming for the event to unveil a statue made in China,” he said.

The TPCC Chief said that the BJP had reportedly constituted a committee, comprising of leaders who defected from other parties, to execute ‘Operation Aakarshan’. He said the formation of the committee clearly indicates that BJP has realised that it can’t expand on its own in Telangana. It just wants to survive by luring leaders of Congress and other parties into its fold, he said
