KCR orders CID probe on Srisailam power plant accident

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has ordered a CID Inquiry on the accident that took place at the Srisailam Power Plant unit in Domalapenta, of Amrabad Mandal in Nagarkurnool district. He made it clear that the reasons behind the accident should be brought to the light.

As per the directions of the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary  Somesh Kumar has appointed CID Additional DGP  Govind Singh as the Inquiry Officer on the accident. Additional DGP is asked to probe the matter and submit a report to the government.

The Chief Minister has expressed his deep shock over the Srisailam Power Plant accident in which people who were trapped inside the plant died as all the efforts to save them have failed. Describing the accident as the most tragic, the CM has conveyed his condolences to members of the bereaved family. The CM wished that those who were critically injured in the accident should recover. He has instructed the officials concerned to provide quality medical treatment to the injured at the government’s expense.

The CM is also regularly speaking to Minister Jagdeesh Reddy and TS Transco, Genco CMD  D Prabhakar Rao who are at the Plant and is reviewing the situation regularly.
