KCR targets Nehru, Indira on Telangana

Hyderabad: TRS Boss and caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has launched a broadside on then Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru for forcible merger of Telangana with AP much to the chagrin of people.

He was addressing a public meeting at Wanaparty and took jibe at Nehru and Indira Gandhi for taking decisions against the people and their aspirations. During her period, Indira Gandhi did the same mistake as per the legend that she got killed 400 students during 1969 agitation for statehood, he fumed. The Congress leaders from Palamur and Telangana have ignored the plight of the farmers and water needs. They did not dare the Delhi and AP bosses and preferred to got glued to the posts of ministers, he chided.

He cited that Bachawat Tribunal report said to give waters to Palamur district, though the Andhra rulers deliberately ignored it. “I got statehood after 14 yrs battle and vowed to complete Palamur project and others. KCR further said that what all he spoke was truths and history. If it is wrong you defeat me in 14 segments, he asked people. Mission Bhagiratha is almost nearing completion and all the habitats will get waters soon, he added. (NSS)
