Kishan Reddy Vents at Metro Officials—Violation of Protocol

Hyderabad: Union Minister of State G. Kishan Reddy today expressed anger and unhappiness over the  Metro officials violating the protocol and not inviting him for the inauguration of JBS-MGBS metro rail recently. He questioned whether it was a TRS party function.  He alleged  that invitation for the function was not extended to him with ‘political reasons’, though he happened to be the MP of the area.  He also demanded  the State government to  extend  Metro services to the Old City, which remained backward. He frowned at TRS and Congress for not caring about the development of the old city.

The Union Minister conducted a review meeting with Hyderabad Metro officials at Dilkusha Guesthouse here and later traveled in the Metro rail from JBS to MGBS, along with BJP leader Dr. K Laxman, M Narsimhulu, Ch Ramachandra Reddy and the Metro officials.

Speaking to the media at the MGBS Metro station, Kishan Reddy asserted that the Centre had sanctioned Rs.1,450 crore for the Hyderabad Metro Rail, and it has already released Rs.1,200 crore, following an undertaking that the Metro services would be extended up to Falaknuma. He, however, regretted that this work was not taken up so far and the  Old City was neglected.  He was also critical of the Metro officials for not displaying the Photo of Prime Minister Narendra Modi n the Metro rails, though funds were given by the Centre.

MMTS Phase-II

Reddy also criticized the State Government for failure to start MMTS Phase two works and said that  the Centre had already given more than it’s share of funds for extending the MMTS up to Yadagiri Gutta,  but the State government was yet to release its share for completion of Phase II of the project. He  demanded the State government to  give its share of Rs.400 crore for expediting MMTS Phase II
