Hyderabad: TPCC Kisan Cell Chairman M. Kodanda Reddy has been appointed vice-chairman of the party’s national Kisan wing. Reddy thanked party president Rahul Gandhi for reposing faith in his leadership and giving him an opportunity to serve the people of the country on Tuesday.
Addressing media persons here today, Kodanda Reddy said Rahul Gandhi had taken several steps to strengthen the Kisan cell. He also said the Congress wrested power in Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh and Rajasthan as the farmers in those States voted for it in the recent Assembly elections. He also said the party would hold a national convention of the Kisan cell here in the last week of January.
Commenting on the victory of the TRS in the State, Kodanda Reddy alleged that the ruling party leaders had spent a lot of ill-gotten money to influence the voters and won the elections. He also said the delay in taking party manifesto to the grass root level led to the defeat of Congress party in the Assembly elections. He also said his party would introspect and take steps to avoid such defeats in the days to come. (NSS)
