KTR inaugurates Nagole flyover, calls Hyderabad fastest developing city in India

In light of Hyderabad’s rapid growth which demands appropriate infrastructure to be put in place, Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development KT Rama Rao said the State government will follow a strategic approach in order to make sure that future generations don’t face hardships.

Rama Rao, who inaugurated the 990-meter bi-directional flyover at Nagole on Wednesday as part of the Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP), said Hyderabad is the fastest developing city in the country and that infrastructure must match its rapid growth. In this regard, K Chandrashekhar Rao formulated the SRDP way back in 2015.

In order to address traffic issues and shorten travel times between LB Nagar and Uppal, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) built the Nagole flyover for Rs 143.58 crore.

According to Rama Rao, the city has undergone a major transformation with 47 projects proposed under SRDP Phase I and 12 additional projects proposed under SRDP Phase II. Among the 47 projects completed in Phase-I, 31 have been completed, including 15 flyovers, five underpasses, seven ROBs/RUBs and a cable-stayed bridge. Other projects are at different stages of completion, he said.

He stated that the Telangana government has opened a number of flyovers in recent months to improve traffic flow and reduce commute times. In addition to flyovers, he said that the government has constructed numerous footover-bridges and roadways underneath bridges. Minister KTR also emphasized how the Haritha Haram program is improving the landscape of the city and its surroundings.

The public has also recently gained access to the Chandrayangutta flyover. People who commute now have something to smile about, thanks to another eagerly anticipated overpass in Bahadurpura.

A number of prominent people attended the inaugural ceremony, including Minister Ch Mallareddy, MLC Patnam Mahender Reddy, Mayor G Vijaya Laxmi, and LB Nagar MLA D Sudheer Reddy.
