KTR trembling with fear of defeat in next polls: Gudur

Hyderabad: TPCC Treasurer Gudur Narayana Reddy has strongly condemned the remarks made by IT Minister K. Tarakarama Rao against the Congress party and its leaders.

“KTR is apparently suffering from ‘Kakorraphiaphobia’ (fear of failure) in next polls. Having wasted over four years in lavish lifestyle and foreign tours using public money, KTR has now realised that TRS will face a certain defeat in next elections due to non-performance. Therefore, in order to deviate people’s attention from failures, he is resorting to cheap and loose talk against Congress party and its leaders,” said Gudur Narayana Reddy.

The Congress leader said KTR should speak about the status of promises made by the TRS in its election manifesto in 2014. “Has TRS Govt implemented 12% reservation for Muslims and STs? How many double bed room houses have been given to poor people? How many poor Dalit families got three acres of land? What is the status of KG-PG free education?” he asked adding that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao and his family would be remembered in history for their lies and cheating.

“TRS Govt had promised to turn Hyderabad into Dallas and Old City into Istanbul. Has this been achieved? Immediately after GHMC elections in February 2016, KTR had announced a 100-day action plan to improve civic amenities in Hyderabad. But nothing has been done even after 500 days and the conditions have turned from bad to worse. KTR had also promised to pay Rs. 1,000 to people who show one pothole on city roads. I challenge KTR to tour the city with me and I’m sure I will be able to collect an amount enough to fund my election campaign,” he said.

Gudur said KTR had no stature to make any comments on Congress president Rahul Gandhi. “People like KTR queue up at 10 Janpath to take a picture with Sonia Gandhi Ji and Rahul Gandhi Ji. KCR, KTR and their other family members also did the same thing in 2014. They used that picture to tell people that their family’s stature has grown. Before saying anything on Nehru-Gandhi family, KTR should give a clarification on why his entire family landed at 10 Janpath before facing elections in 2014,” he said.

The Congress leader said that the TRS has completely lost its ground across Telangana. No section of the society was satisfied with the performance of KCR Govt and people are desperately waiting for next polls to dislodge TRS. “Having sensed a humiliating defeat in next elections, KTR is trying to trigger a meaningless debate on irrelevant issues. But Congress party will not fall into KTR’s trap and will enthral people to question TRS leaders on their failures,” he said. (NSS)
