In a bid to contain the coronavirus, Kuwait has started to restrict the movement for people who have not been fully vaccinated.

Kuwait Deploys Armed Forces On Mall Entrances

As per the latest reports, the government in the Arab country has deployed armed forces at the mall entrances on Sunday morning. This move comes as a step towards containing the Covid 19 virus from spreading.

Under this, people who have not been vaccinated will not be allowed to visit places like shopping malls, salons, gyms and restaurants across the country. People who are under the age of 16 years, pregnant women and the ones with a medical condition will be exempted from the new rule.

Citizens Support Government’s Decision

Talking to the media, a customer in a mall, Shahid Al-Awadi said that the security of the mall keep a check on the vaccination certificates where the visitors are obliged to show “immune” and “Kuwait Mobile ID” applications before entering the premises.

She said that the he came to the mall to enjoy breakfast, far from the crowds. She went to the mall after her friend called her to inform that the atmosphere of the mall is much quieter and they must enjoy the same. She further affirmed that she supports the decision. Further explained that she had already received the vaccine to prevent the spread of Covid 19 and protect the children, her family especially the elderly.

“It is illogical that we may be exposed to the risk of infection and the spread of the disease because of the few who refrain from vaccination,” she said.

At the same time, Iman Hammadi, a saleswoman revealed to the media that since the visitors are less than usual, they are finding it difficult to match their targets.

On June 17, the Kuwait government decided to allow access to most of the public venues. However, they are open only for the people who have been fully vaccinated against the Covid 19.
