Launch of Arogyasree extension services in six districts of AP

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has ushered in another new era in Arogyasree and launched expansion services of Arogya Shree to six more districts from Thursday.

Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has promised during the elections that medical expenses will be brought under the purview of Arogyasree if it exceeds Rs 1,000.

Accordingly, Arogyasree has made several changes and is implementing it as the first pilot project in West Godavari district from January 3 this year However from today it will be implemented in Vijayanagaram, Visakhapatnam, Guntur, Prakasam, YSR and Kurnool districts.

Speaking on the occasion, CM YS Jagan said, “We are expanding the scope of Arogyasree. Arogyasree will apply to those with an annual income of Rs five lakh. “AP is the only state which has to bring Corona under Arogyasree.  He maintained that no one should be indebted for healing.

“The layout of hospitals will change from day to day,” he said.  If the cost of treatment exceeds Rs 1,000, Arogyasree will apply, the CM said.  Before coming to power, there were 1059 treatments of ailments in Arogyasree.

Now it has been increased to 2200 treatments. Additional services would be extended to all districts soon. We are setting up 27 teaching hospitals in the state. “We are making quality medicines available in government hospitals and giving WHO prescribed medicines in government hospitals,” he said.  Jagan advised the collectors to pay more attention to COVID prevention measures.

we have to live with Covid until the vaccine comes.  CM YS Jagan suggests to raise awareness among general masses on issues like washing hands with soap and keeping physical distance with others.
