Lecture on “Space & Planetary Exploration by ISRO Chandrayan and Beyond”

Hyderabad: The Institution of Engineers (India), Telangana State Centre, today organized Dr. J Purushottam 15th Endowment Lecture on “Space and Planetary Exploration by ISRO Chandrayan and Beyond” by Er J A Kamalakar, Director, ISRO (Retd.) and Prof. Satish Dhawan, URSC ISRO, Bengaluru.

During his presentation, the Chief Guest explained the object of space exploration is a quest for knowledge and understanding about ourselves and our place in the universe. He also said Space has got a lot of advantages such as cost-effectiveness, quick assessment, etc. besides telecommunication and regular broadcasting services. Space technology has been used by all departments such as Remote Sensing etc. The Speaker further broadly explained about Solar System, Chandrayan -1 and Chandrayan-2, etc. The presentation also dwells on the performance of ISRO satellite launches so for in the area of planetary exploration i.e. Chandrayaan-1, Mars Orbit Mission, Chandrayaan-2 and few results and the major gains from these missions.

Secretary, IEI, TSC; also spoke about Dr J Purushottam, FIE; Dr P L Panda, FIE, Member, IEI, TSCC; Er K Subbi Reddy, FIE, IEI, TSCC; Family Members of Dr J Purushottam; Corporate Members and other members also participated.
