Lucknow Resident Claims No Antibodies After First Covishield Vaccine Jab; Files Complaint Against Adar Poonawalla

Amidst the vaccine production and the shortage of the same, the CEO of the Serum Institute of India, Adar Poonawalla recently got under a complaint. The complaint has been registered by a resident of Lucknow, Pratap Chandra for not developing antibodies despite a vaccine jab.

Pratap Chandra Claims Being More Vulnerable to Covid 19 After Vaccine 

As per the latest reports, the complaint has been filed at the Aashiana police station in Lucknow. Amongst Adar Poonawalla other people have also been named. It includes DCGA Director, Joint Secretary of Health Minister Luv Agarwal, National Health Mission Director Aparna Upadhyay, etc.

In the complaint, Chandra said that after he received the first dose of Covishield on April 28, the second dose was supposed to be given within 28 days. But later the date was extended by six weeks. Soon after that, the government increased the time gap between both doses by 12 weeks.

He said that Chandra after receiving the first dose of the vaccine, he felt weak and unwell. He then cited that ICMR Director general and said that he (director) had said in the media that after taking the vaccine, people will develop a good number of antibodies against Covid 19.

Following which, Chandra took the Covid Antibody GT test from a government-approved lab. But the results showed that he did not develop any antibodies against Covid 19. Instead, his platelets had gone down to 1.5 lakh from 3 lakh.

He further alleges that the Covid 19 vaccine has made him more vulnerable to Covid 19 than before.

No FIR Registered Yet 

Reports suggest that the police has filed a complaint. But no FIR has been registered yet. Given the gravity of the situation, the police has decided to inform the respective authorities before taking any further action.

Meanwhile, the complainant has said that he would move to the court if the FIR is not registered.
