Maharashtra recorded its biggest surge of 4 months on Wednesday after it registered more than 8,800 new cases- all in a single day. This exceeds the number found anywhere else in the country.

As such, the state government and capital Mumbai’s police have warned citizens of strict measures if they fail to follow the precautionary rules and restrictions.

The district Washim was all over the news in the recent past as it witnessed a mass gathering near a temple this Tuesday, dumping the covid protocols for social media distancing and crowds.

The event occurred after hundreds of supporters of Sanjay Rathod, a Shiv Sena Minister who had reached the temple to worship, jumped in to meet him. The Minister has his name involved in the death of a woman.
