Major reservoirs of Andhra Pradesh are running full

Amravati: All major reservoirs in Andhra Pradesh is full at their peak due to heavy rains that moved in from the Bay of Bengal.

Sir Arthur Cotton dam in East Godavari district currently has a water level of 44.65 feet, storing of 2.91tmc water. The dam whose capacity is of 2.93tmc is 99.35 percent covered.

Similarly, the Prakasam dam in Krishna district Vijayawada is currently filled to 56.2 feet with a storage capacity of 3.07tmc Prakasam dam is filled to its peak with the inflow of water from catchment areas.it is running  100 percent capacity at the moment.

Officials are expecting up to 6 lakh cusecs of more inflow of water into the dam.

Srisailam reservoir water level reached up to 885 feet with water level storage currently standing at 214.36tmc. The Kurnool district reservoir whose capacity is of 215.81tmc is currently 99.98 percent filled.

Similarly, The Nagarjunasagar Reservoir water level Is at 589.5 feet, which has a storage capacity to hold water up to 312.05tmc.

The Guntur reservoir is currently filled with 310.84tmc of water which is 99.62 percent capacity of the reservoir.

Pulichntalla project water level reached 174.21 feet. It has a vast capacity of storage of 45.77tmc of water is now currently filled with 44.93tmc of water or 97.81 percent of its is total capacity.

Somasila reservoir water level has reached upto 328.22 feet. The. Somasila reservoir in the Nellore district under the Pennar river basin has a vast storage capacity of 78tmc of water which is now filled up to 94.81 percent with the inflow of 73.95tmc.

Among the six reservoirs in Andhra Pradesh two falls under the Guntur district and the rest four Prakasam dam, Srisailam, Nagarjunasagar, and Pulichintala fall under the Krishna river basin.
