Mamata Banerjee Slams BJP For Allegedly “Eating” Minority Votes

In the latest updates from the West Bengal Assembly elections, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has accused BJP of “eating” minority votes.

As per the latest reports, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party with allegations. She claimed that the BJP was backing up a new political party to take into votes of the minority groups in the upcoming elections.

While she didnt name any party or person, but she claimed that BJP has reportedly given money at an election rally at South 24 Parganas district.
“A new political outfit has been launched in the state at the behest of the BJP to grab a share of the minority votes and help the BJP. Please don’t vote for its candidates,” she said.

Banerjee further claimed that the CPI(M) and the Congress have developed an understanding with the BJP.

She added that Trinamool Congress is the only one that can prevent the implementation of the CAA in the state.

West Bengal Elections To Start Soon

The West Bengal Assembly Elections will be conducted in eight phases from March 27 to April 29. They will be conducted for 294 seats. The state is currently being ruled the Trinamool Congress party (TMC) and they are in a bitter contest with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Bharatiya Janata Party.

While TMC is aiming to win the elections for the third time in the state, BJP is leaving no stone unturned either. Another front in the Assembly elections is the CPI-M and the Congress who entered a seat sharing arrangement.

As per the latest reports, 34 TMC legislators have left the TMC and joined the BJP. Some say that people have left the party due to party differences, not getting ticket and for they believe their future lies with the BJP.

Some of the prominent leaders include Suvendu Adhikari, Mithun Chakraborty and Mukul Roy.
