Hyderabad: The president of City-based Markazi Anjuman Maatami Syed Haqayaq Ali Khan Abedi today thanked the Chief Minister of the state K.Chandrashekhar Rao allowing the successful conduct of the tenth Muharram (Ashura) celebrations. He said that the celebrations would not have been so piously peaceful had it did not get the support of the Chief Minister.
Markazi Anjuman Maatami Syed Haqayaq Ali Khan Abedi said that they were also grateful to home minister Mahmoud Ali and then the police department of the state including Hyderabad police commissioner Anjani Kumar. He said that the CP had made elaborate arrangements and bundobust for the successful conduct of the Ashura by following the Covid-19 Regulations.
He said that they would expect the star Government to provide all necessary arrangements for Arbaʽeen which would be held on October 8, 2020, to be conducted by their organization. He urged the police to not come to the Alam nor interfere in maatam and restrict itself to the arrangements like traffic diversion etc. He wrote a letter to the home minister on the issue and urged him to issue necessary instructions to the police concerned.
