Mayor, MLA, distribute 12kg rice, Rs 500 to each migrant worker in Musheerabad

Hyderabad:  As announced by the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao that no one should be hungry,  GHMC Mayor Dr Bonthu Rammohan, Civil Supplies Corporation Chairman M. Srinivas Reddy, and MLA  Muta Gopal have distributed 12 kg rice and Rs 500 to each migrant worker in Musheerabad Assembly Constituency here today in coordination with the Civil Supplies Department
and the GHMC.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Bonthu Rammohan said Telangana was the first State to announce lock down in the country, this shows how the  Chief Minister’s foresight in respect of the intensity of Covid-19 effect. The Chief Minister announced lock down in order to safe guard the people of Telangana to control the spread of Corona virus in the State.
Further, he said due to lock down the activities of most of the sectors close down, particularly the construction sector are the worst hit, due to which the migrant workers are suffering. Since they are part and parcel in economic development of t state the Chief Minister has announced that the Government will come to rescue them by giving 12kg Rice and Rs.500 to each migrant worker.
The total number of migrant workers in the GHMC limits is 34,283 and quantity of Rice to be
distributed is 411.396 Metric Tons at @Rs.32.73 per kg. and total cost comes to Rs.1,34,64,991.in addition to this Rs.500 is to be given to each Migrant worker and total amount comes 1,71,41,500.
Chairman Civil Supplies Corporation M.Srinivas Reddy, said as the State, country and world is reeling under effect of Corona virus, the police Department, GHMC and Civil Supplies making necessary arrangements to all walks of life. Civil Supplies Corporation making arrangements for supply of 12 kg Rice for about 3,35,669 people in the state about 4,028 metric Tones of rice with cost of Rs.13,18,37,356 and
amount of Rs500 to each person comes to Rs. 16,78,34,500.
MLA  Muta Gopal said the 12kg and Rs.500 giving to the migrant worker that every one should have meal daily since they have no alternative to earn during prevailing situation. Deputy Mayor.  Baba Fasiuddin, Corporator,Smt. Muta Padma and Deputy Commissioner Uma Prakash and others participated in the programme.
