Hyderabad: G. Venkateshwar Rao, District Fisheries Officer, Medchal District, was caught red-handed at his office this afternoon while he allegedly demanded and accepted Rs 10,000 from P.S. Anuradha, president, Primary Fisher Women’s Co-operative Society Ltd, Malkajgiri as reward for sanctioning revolving fund of Rs 30,000 which was credited into the account of the Primary Fisher Women Co-operative Society Ltd, Malkajgiri, Medchal under Fisheries Development Scheme.
The tainted amount of Rs 10,000 was recovered from the deliquent’s possession after his right hand fingers tested positive, said Telangana State ACB Director-General. He said the accused was arrested and produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Hyderabad. (NSS)
