Mehbooba Mufti meets Farooq, Omar Abdullah after her release from detention

Srinagar: A day after former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti was released from detention, She met former chief ministers Omar Abdullah and Farooq Abdullah at her quarters in Srinagar on Wednesday.

Later Omar Abdullah tweeted saying Mehbooba mufti had accepted an appeal by Farooq Abdullah for a consultation on Thursday by the Gupkar declaration signatories.

Omar Abdullah also tweeted that “My father and I called on Mehbooba Mufti Sahiba this afternoon to enquire about her well-being after her release from detention. She has kindly accepted Farooq Sb’s invitation to join a meeting of the Gupkar Declaration signatories tomorrow afternoon,”.

Mehbooba mufti retweeted Omar Abdullah’s tweet and said “It was nice of you & Farooq Sahab to come home. It gave me courage listening to him. I’m sure together we all can change things for the better”.

 

Earlier, Mehbooba Mufti held a meeting with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leadership.
The development follows the Jammu and Kashmir administration’s decision the day before to end the imprisonment of Mehbooba Mufti, who had been under custody since 5 August last year when the Central government scrapped the Jammu and Kashmir‘s special status.

The Three former Chief Ministers of Jammu and Kashmir were slapped with the Public Safety Act (PSA) after their imprisonment following the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5 last year.

On Tuesday evening after her release In an audio message, Mehbooba Mufti said Article 370’s revocation was a ‘black decision on a black day’.

Mehbooba mufti said people of Jammu and Kashmir have to work unanimously for the resolution of the Kashmir Issue.
