The gruesome murder of 29-year-old merchant navy officer Saurabh Rajput in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut has taken a shocking turn with new revelations about the accused—his wife, Muskaan Rastogi, and her lover, Sahil Shukla. The duo, both 27, allegedly committed the crime on March 4 before embarking on a 15-day mountain getaway in Himachal Pradesh to cover their tracks.
According to Ajab Singh, the cab driver who drove them to their destinations, the couple showed no signs of guilt or remorse. Speaking to India Today TV, Singh stated that their behavior during the journey did not suggest that they had just committed a brutal murder. Throughout the trip to Shimla and Manali, the duo barely spoke to each other. Muskaan, Singh added, only received two phone calls from her mother during their stay.
Reports suggest that Muskaan and Sahil stayed in Kasol for six days following the murder. They then continued their trip, covering multiple locations in Himachal Pradesh, before returning to Meerut on March 17.
The cab driver further revealed shocking details about their lifestyle during the trip. According to Singh, Sahil consumed two bottles of alcohol every day, while Muskaan drank three cans of beer that they had brought from Shamli. Despite their alleged crime, the couple celebrated Holi with great enthusiasm, showing no visible distress over their actions.
Shortly after committing the murder on March 4, Muskaan and Sahil booked a Swift Dzire and set off on their Himachal trip. Their prolonged stay in Kasol and subsequent travel to Shimla and Manali appear to have been an attempt to evade suspicion. However, their movements were closely monitored, leading to their return to Meerut, where they are now under investigation.
The chilling details of their post-murder actions have left many in shock, raising serious questions about their state of mind and intent. Authorities are continuing their probe to uncover further evidence related to the crime and the motive behind the gruesome killing.
